Today we played some indoor games to beat the Summer heat!

Everyone is enjoying watching the Olympics now, and are all in a competitive mood, so we had some of our own competitions!

We played “Shoot The Moon.” We got into pairs and tried to make a ball travel along two long pieces of string. The hard part was we had to try and drop the the balls into cups as they were traveling along the strings.

“Hold it closer!”

“Don’t drop it!”

“I can do it!”

Our second game was “Turtle Race.” We had to race on our hands and knees like turtles, but while doing that, we had to balance a hat (shell) on our back. If the shell fell off, they had to put it back on and start again. The kids had to race to the other side of the class and grab as many balls as the could in one hand. After that, they needed to go back and put the balls in their team box.

“I can hold five balls!”

“My shell fell off!”

“I can’t hold five balls!”

“This is difficult!”

“So many points!”

And our last game was “Pass It.” We made two teams, and we all lined up in chairs. We had to pass a ball from the back of the line, to the front without dropping it. The team to get the most balls in their box wins!

“Pass it to me!”

“Don’t drop it!”

To make it more difficult, we tried it with little cups.

“Be careful!”

After the buzzer sounded, we counted up all our points.

It was very competitive, and the kids had a chance to let out all of their Olympic energy!

Good job everyone!
