For our first summer school lesson on camping, we spent the first part of the morning talking about camping and building some vocabulary. The kids then drew a picture of their own campsites to practice this new vocabulary. The kids really enjoyed this and one student actually drew a campsite being attacked by wolves‼︎
In the second part we built a campsite in the classroom. 🏕️
We pitched tents, set up folding chairs and even built a campfire out of paper- complete with paper marshmallows on sticks. The kids had a great time and the classroom felt like a real campsite.

In the reading section the upper level kids read a story about being stuck on a Ferris wheel, and we played Chinese whispers like the kids in the story. In the writing section the kids had to write an advertisement. One girl wrote a piece advertising a homework problem!

Good job😊
