Happy Thursday everyone! Today in ACCESS we learned about climate change. We talked about how important an issue it is in the world right now and why.
We learned about greenhouse gases and how they trap the sun’s energy in the atmosphere, heating the planet.
Last month we learned about fossils, and today we learned about fossil fuels, which are contributing to climate change by putting greenhouse gases into the air! Oh no!
We asked questions like “what other ways can we find energy for electricity?” Wind, sunlight, and water are called sustainable energies because they won’t run out! Let’s use those instead!
Afterwards, we tested our understanding by matching climate change vocabulary with their definitions.
The students worked in teams to figure it out, and put together their own flash card sets!
