Our art theme today was “Winter Birds.”

While most winter birds are not so colorful, we decided to make ours more colorful in a wish that warm weather would come soon.

Students shaped one side of a tube into the bird’s head, and then folded the other to make its tail.

It was a little tricky to get the right angle to staple, but everyone did well.

We discussed the features of bird. The two most important – the beak and wings.

Students marked off where the eyes would be in pencil before beginning to color.

After doing the eyes, it was time to move on to the bodies.

This was quite an interesting pattern on a very well cut out bird.

Now let’s watch them fly.

Fly away, winter birds.
