First we learned about mushrooms, then we learned about the different parts of the plants that we could eat. Today we learned how sweet these fruits and vegetables are. Although some fruits and vegetables taste, sour, bitter or salty, they all contain sugar. Today we aimed to measure the sweetness using a brix scale to see how much sugar a daikon, carrot, and japanese pumpkin have.

At first we talked about different fruits and vegetables and how they taste to us. Then we shredded some of them to look at them using our designated tools.

It was interesting to see that some foods we though had no sweetness, actually contained a lot of sugars.

In conclusion fruits and vegetables are more then meets the eye and sometimes we need to cut, grate, watch and taste our foods to determine how they really taste.

Sweet dreams and a fruity fairwell.
