Today was the final Social Studies lesson of the year for ACCESS.

Our final lesson about News was about TV news.

First, we reviewed what we learned last week.

Putting our top news into a newspaper article was fun.

Students thought about how it would be said differently as news on TV.

After learning some different phrases used by news anchors such as “Breaking news” and “Live from…”

students wrote out and practiced a news script.

“Breaking news”

“The ranking is out for the best ACCESS activities!”

“Number 5 was the lemonade stand. Number 4 was the…”

“Number 2 was the Halloween party. And finally at Number 1…”

“Hand clapping was our Number 1. That was the breaking news from ACCESS.”

Everyone did great at newscasting.
