In today’s lesson, we explored the intricate web of ecosystems and their profound influence on animal populations.
While studying the chaparral ecosystem in Southern California, we looked at how coyotes, ground squirrels, and plants interact. When it rains more in the area, plants grow a lot. This makes more ground squirrels appear, and this, in turn, affects coyotes because they eat these squirrels.
The students displayed a strong interest in their learning and enthusiastically shared their newfound knowledge.
