Today in ACCESS we got to experiment with drawing on our fingers. Since we didn’t want our hands to get messy, the students practiced their designs on scratch paper. First, they traced their three fingers onto the paper.

They marked lines where their knuckles are so that they would know where to draw their faces.

Now the challenge is to make an interesting scene. So we talked about all the different feelings and how to draw them. We also talked about making sure the finger puppets are interacting.

Once the students had their designs ready, we had them copy the design in marker. Noticing the difference between pencil and marker on the paper will help them when they finally draw in their hands.

When they were ready, they drew their designs on their fingers. It took a lot of concentration.

It was worth the effort, though! The students came up with some really fun designs!
