In Wednesday ACCESS today, we continued with our study of New Year’s celebrations from around the globe.

To start our lesson, we reviewed the Christmas celebrations from Europe covered last week.

We then moved our focus to New Year’s traditions in Japan. We discussed how we celebrate the New Year in our homes. After our class discussion, we looked at “namahage” that visit children in the North of Japan.

After watching some videos of children being scared by namahage, we wrote resolutions on how we can avoid a visit from namahage.
