Today in ACCESS, we continued with our study of Magic Numbers in Social Studies.

To begin our lesson, we looked at the world population of 8, 100, 000, 000 people. We discussed where most of these people live and densely populated countries.

We then moved onto our main topic of “100 People in a Village”. For this activity, we watched a video and gathered information on different percentages on how the world population would look if there were 100 people. This included different percentages of men, women, children, access to certain needs, occupations, etc. The students finished with a worksheet where they entered the information they had gathered

To finish our lesson, the students made a poster displaying the information they had gathered.
