Today in ACCESS, we started a new September subject for Wednesdays. The focus this month will be on Rhyming and Rapping.

To begin today’s lesson, the students discussed their favorite music and songs. We then discussed what rap is. After the students had a general idea, we read the Dr. Seuss book, “One Fish, Two Fish”.

After reading the book as a class, the students completed two worksheets. For the first worksheet, the students needed to match the rhyming words.

For the second worksheet, the students were given base vocabulary. They then had to think about what vocabulary would rhyme with the base word.

Lastly, the students learned some of the sentences from “One Fish, Two Fish”. Hopefully by the end of the month, the students will be rapping the “One Fish, Two Fish” sentences!
