Today for Wednesday’s Social Studies we learned about the iconic painter Claude Monet, who was one of the founders of the Impressionism style and school of art. Students learned that Monet’s focus was on light and nature, and was always colorful.

Students enjoyed looking at his art, and then worked together to complete a large scale art installation piece for their classroom! The art piece was inspired by one of Monet’s famous paintings of water lilies in a pond.

It’s been great teaching students more about the history of art, and we all look forward to learning about Picasso and more artists next week!
