Jupiter Grade 2 – Reading and Science (Gotanda)

In Grade 2 Jupiter class today, we covered Reading and Science.

In our first class, we started a new chapter book. The students started reading “Horrible Harry in Room 2B”. The story is quite amusing and the students were laughing at some of the things Horrible Harry did. After the students took turns reading to the class, we discussed some of the more difficult words and completed some comprehension questions.

In our Science class, we started a new unit on Dinosaurs and Fossils. We read and discussed how fossils are formed over time. This looked at both trace fossils and body fossils. The students also stated their opinions on why they believed dinosaurs disappeared from Earth.
