Today we learnt about the sustainable development goals or SDGs for short. We first discussed how they were created and why they are important in order to have a better quality of life.
After this discussion, we talked about the SDG number 14: ‘Life Below Water’. This goal focuses on life under water. It focuses on the ways that the ocean is in danger. From illegal/over fishing, use of single-use plastic to pollution. After discussing the threats to our oceans, we talked about some of the ways that we can help to minimize the danger to the oceans.

We decided that it is better to try to choose more sustainable products instead of single use plastic. Single use plastic includes: plastic straws, plastic bags and plastic water bottles. It has been said by leading scientists that by the year 2050, there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish.

After this, we created two posters on ways to cut own on plastic. Today we learnt a lot! Thank you for reading our blog!

See you next week!
