What do you do when you come across a bear?

That’s what our students learned on this week’s science lesson about animals from Hokkaido. Today’s specimen the brown and black bear.

We talked about the do’s and don’ts of meeting bears. Most important of all is that we don’t panic and run away hysterically.

Depending on the type of bear, we play dead for black bears, and we back away slowly, looking into brown bears eyes.

To end the lesson we made bear masks and practiced the bear necessities when it comes to bear troubles.

Bear with us as we learn about animals this month.

We would also like to congratulate our first reading challenge finishers! Nicely done, challenge yourself to more reading.
