Piñatas originated long ago during the time of the Aztecs. They decorated clay pots, and filled them with fruits. Later the people would break them for fun pick up the prizes from the shattered pinata.

Eventually this tradition evolved into papermache and became bright colored animals, figures and symbols of anything you can think of.

We learned to make some using paper bags and tissue papers, in preparation for next week’s birthday party.

Our PreACCESS class had turned our pinatas into cute little owls and ACCESS made many bags.

We will break these bag boys later.

Adios ACCESS Amigos.
