Today in Access we celebrated “Australia Day” by discussing some things that are particular to Australia, and doing some related activities.
First we learned about the history of Australia’s aboriginal instrument, the “didgeridoo”.
Students also got to see and touch a real one!

After that, students learned some Australian lingo. Words like “G’day!” and “brekkie”, which mean “Hello!” and “breakfast”.
One of Australia’s most popular food items that is usually eaten on toast for breakfast is “Vegemite”, a jam-like paste made from yeast.
