Did you know that light behaves differently when it shines on different objects? Sometimes it gets reflected, sometimes absorbed by the object.

Let‘s find out how different things react to light!

Aluminum foil “reflects” light, just like a mirror. The classroom got so much brighter, wow!

Tissue paper “transmits” light, that means it lets only a part of the light shine through. The different colored tissue papers also change the color of the light. Fascinating, isn’t it?

Have you ever tried putting a flashlight on you arm or your hand? What happened? Depending on how thick the body part is, the light gets either “transmitted” or “absorbed”, which means it can’t shine trough.

When you shine it on thin body parts, like a finger or your hand, the color of the light actually changes to red, because of your blood. Wow!

We also learned how to make an actual 3D hologram, using only an iPad, a special box and a plastic prism. We watched figures from a video float in the air, it looked like they were really there!

Everyone was surprised and excited, it was a quick activity, but super magical!
