This month is very hot, so we are doing a lot of water activities. Today we made a rainbow with water!

It started as an experiment. We colored little squares of kitchen paper using a color from the rainbow. We then put it in a container of water. In a matter of seconds, the water changed into that color! Like magic!

“I like blue.”

“Blue water!”

“Red water!”

We then poured the water into a plastic umbrella cover! The kind you find at a supermarket or department store entrance.

“Be careful!”

We tied the first portion off, and then added the next color. We tied off that portion, and added another color…until it looked like a rainbow!

“It’s soft!”

“Let’s hang it somewhere!”

It looked good enough to drink!
Don’t forget to drink lots of water this summer and stay hydrated!
