Our Monthly Theme this month is all about water. We will be exploring the amazingness of water through some hands on experiments.
Today we began by asking, “What will happen if I pour this water onto this string?”
The string had already been dipped into the cup of water.

Students were surprised that the water didn’t drip onto the table and walked its way down to the second cup.
We then wondered, “What will happen if the string is dry?”

“Oh!”
The dry string dripped water on the table.
We dripped it into the water so it was just like the first string.
It then walked its way down to the cup again.

“What will happen if we diip this rainbow all the way into the water?”

“What!?” The rainbow was gone.
Students learned that the plastic covering over the drawing, along with the black marker, made the color seem to vanish.
It was time to try this trick out for ourselves.

First, students drew a simple picture on white paper.

Then they put their pictures into plastic. Students traced just the outline with a black market.
Would it work?

It worked!
