This month, our Monthly Theme is the ocean.
Students will work together to create their own classroom ocean.
Before starting, it was important to learn the different layers.
The Sunlight Zone is the closest to the surface andwhere most animals live.
The Twilight Zone gets very little light.
The Midnight Zone gets no light at all so the animals there create their own.
“Where does the shark like to live?”
“The sunlight zone!” No, not there.
“I know! The Twilight Zone!”
We began creating our ocean by creating a base layer.
Next we added different colors to make it clear our ocean has layers.
Our ocean also needed some land around it.
“Go to the left more.”
We all worked together to stick, cut, and assemble our ocean layers base.
Next week we will begin adding in some animals to each layer.
