This week, students learned about the tools that gave the Stone Age its name and how important these tools were for survival.

They explored how different tools had different purposes and how shape and sharp edges were important.

After learning about hunting tools and weapons, students designed and made their own tools using classroom materials, thinking carefully about how their tools would work. One student shared, “Mine is a spear so I can hunt a big animal like the mammoth.”

What kind of tool would you make if you had to survive in the Stone Age?
