Jupiter 2: Language Arts & Special Project(Ogikubo)

Good evening J2 parents!!

Language Arts:

This afternoon, the students continued the review of rules of capitalization. First, I asked them what the rules are without having them looking in their books. I’m happy to type that more than half of them knew all of the rules. Next, I reviewed that the students need to focus on special names because sometimes a special name can have two-to-three different words and that would mean they’d have to capitalize every first letter in the special name. We also reviewed holidays that they’re not aware of.

Special Project (Recycled Monster):

This evening they made a lot of progress with their recycled monsters. All of them are 80-90% done, and they’ll be finished by next week Friday. We’ve been talking a lot about how using an imagination is important, because I’ve been pushing to have them think how to develop their creatures by not using so much tape, but in how to use crafts other than tape to make their vision come to life. They’ve been doing a very good job!
