What flowers can you see in the picture? That’s right, tulips.
As part of our study of the seasons, this week we talked about how things change in the fall.
Some animals hibernate and some migrate.
How about plants?
Today, students learned about the life cycle of a tulip.

Tulips need to experience the cold winter air in order to bloom in the spring.
It was time for a hands-on experience.
Students took a trip to a nearby farm.

After marking off the space, it was time to start putting some bulbs into the ground.

Digging the deep holes for the tulips was hard work.
The sun sets early in the fall, so students worked fast.

After planting and watering the tulips, it was time to head back to the school.
We can’t wait to see the tulips bloom in the spring.
