This week, the students learned about “Goods and Services” in Social Studies.

We talked about how shopping can mean two things:

  • Goods: items we buy
  • Services: things people do for us

To make the lesson real, we took a short walk around Shimotakaido and visited different shops. Students looked carefully at each place like the 100 yen shop, stationery store, coffee shop, and hair salon and decided if it offers goods, services, or both.

After our walk, the students worked together on a big project:

They created a large map of Shimotakaido. They added roads, glued pictures of the shops, wrote labels, and discussed what each store provides.

The activity helped them practice teamwork, observation, and using English to describe places in their community. The final map came out great.
