It’s Setsubun time! Spring is just around the corner, so we must perform some ancient rituals to ward off the evil spirits from last year so that we can welcome in good fortune for this year.
In order to receive good fortune, we must confront the Setsubun Ogre and send him back to where he came from!
We talked about what the Ogre looks like, and why he is so scary.
We then came up with our own interpretations of what an Ogre looks like, and why it is scary to us.
We all have different ideas about what is scary, and what scary looks like.
“Big head!”
“So scary!”
“Many eyes.”
“I don’t like big things.”
“I don’t like spiders!”
Hopefully, we don’t have to meet any of these Ogres this year.
“Ogres out! Good luck in!!”
