Language Arts:
Today, the students continued their study of combining sentences. At the beginning we focused on a light review of what we learned last week, and from there they looked at two examples on the board:
Ex:
I sang in a band when I was younger.
I played guitar when I was younger.
Combined:
I sang in a band and played guitar when I was younger.
They were able to understand everything quite well, and even gave some of their own examples.
Special Project:
Today, we voted to see what short special project the kids would like to do next. They decided that it’d be making their own maps. There were conditions they had to follow; they had to have several different areas and structures of a wooded area, mountains, volcanos, and animals. They really enjoyed this project. Most of them finished the first stage, and all of them will be finished next Friday before we close for summer vacation. Below are a couple of images of them working hard.
