Good evening J2 parents!
Writing:
Today the students started their 2nd version of their writing book. We reviewed what pronouns are, how to use them, and how to match [have and has] to them. We are diving further into adverbs adjectives, too. We’re having the students take a more central role in thinking how to correct their mistakes, and how to recognize what’s wrong more independently. It was a challenge for them, but they rose to the challenge in recognizing that they could spot the mistakes without the teacher checking. That’ll continue being our goal moving forward.
Science:
Today, the students learned about natural resources. They learned how important air, water, sunlight, and soil are. They also learned how pollution affects the environment. Next week, we’ll be working with two different types of soil where they will investigating what they see once water touches both different types.
