Today was a very special day at school!
We welcomed real sumo wrestlers to join us for a traditional mochi pounding experience.

First, the students watched how mochi is made. Then, one by one, they took turns pounding the rice together with the sumo wrestlers. Everyone listened carefully, waited for their turn, and tried their best. It was exciting to see how strong teamwork makes soft, stretchy mochi.

After that, it was time for questions!
The students asked about sumo life, training, and food, and the wrestlers answered kindly. There were lots of smiles and curious faces.

Finally, the best part taking pictures with the sumo wrestlers and bringing home fresh mochi to enjoy with family. Some mochis were topped with anko and kinako, and they were delicious!

It was a fun day of culture, learning, and memories we won’t forget.
