Today we started our two-week Daruma project. A Daruma is a traditional Japanese good-luck doll that helps you focus on a goal or wish. In the first lesson, we made the basic shape of our Daruma using newspaper, glue, and red paper.

Students worked carefully to crumple newspaper into a round ball, cover it with glue, and wrap it tightly with red paper. They also cut out the white face shape and placed it on the front. Everyone got messy, but they had a lot of fun. Their teamwork, focus, and creativity were great.

Next week, we will move to Daruma 2, where students will draw the face, add designs, and choose a wish to put inside their Daruma. We are excited to see how each one turns out.
