This Thursday we looked at the Doe’s and Don’ts of the Sika Deer.
Sika deer are native to Japan and are celebrated for their beauty. They live in diverse habitats and are culturally significant in Japan. They also have wonderful ornate antlers that we could share with the class.
After we talked about the deers we did a little science recording on an antler specimen.
It was awesome getting to look at a real antler, and helped us record an observation of smell, weight, feel, and look of an antler.
We would also like to congratulate our latest reading challenge finisher!
Wishing you deer-lightful, antler-riffic days.
