On our recent embarkation into our global warming lessons we happened upon the mighty polar bear. At first we talked about and gave some facts about the bear.

Did you know a bear swam for nine days straight, because of global warming? The bear is losing his home due to polar ice caps melting.

Then we used a graphic organizer to write some facts that remembered. Like polar bears live about 15-18 years.

Some of our older students took notes using photos and pictures instead.

The most interesting fact that we found was that a polar bear’s hair is not actually white but transparent.

Finally the students, really liked what the polar bear ate and drew their renditions.

We also would like to congratulate one of our students, for completing their round of reading baskets.

With that I’d like to leave you all with one of my favorite openings involving polar bears. How much does a polar bear weigh? Enough to break the ice.

Goodbye, my name is Jake.
