This month in Wednesday ACCESS at Kamikitazawa we are studying Science.

Our theme is “North Pole and South Pole”.

We began by going over where each location is.

One animal we often think of when we think of cold places is the polar bear.

However, you will never find a polar bear at the South Pole.

Polar bears only live near the North Pole.

We talked about what they look like, how they stay warm and what they eat.

It was then time for us to talk about what we would do if we lived in a very cold area like the North Pole.

For today, it was made clear that any cold area was OK.

Riding polar bears and dancing with penguins sounds like a lot of fun!

We finished up our day by making mini books about polar bears.

Once made it was time to read them together.

Here are some of the facts we learned.

“Polar bears have a layer of blubber, or fat, that keeps them warm.”

“Polar bears are found in the Arctic.” This is where the North Pole is.

“Polar bears don’t have white fur.”

We learned so many interesting facts about Polar Bears.

I wonder what animal we’ll be learning about next week?
