This week at English Pocket for Monday’s Art study, students challenged their creative skills by making a bird craft. Birds have long been friends with our monthly theme; plants. In nature, birds help to cross pollinate, spread and help grow all plants of all shapes, sizes and varieties. Students learned of their integral role in the ecosystem and then used molding dough to create custom swirling designs on their birds.

Students designed the outlining shape of their bird, cut and pasted onto construction paper then it was dough time. Rolling the fragile dough and manipulating such small scale pieces of it was a fun challenge for students, and then creating their own unique designs was a great encouragement to their own imagination. Some students even made miniature animal designs within the bird itself!

It was wonderful to see how students tried their best and even helped each other during this weeks creative art activity!
