Today, the students of Jupiter Grade 2 finished reading a story called Carousel.
The story was about a young girl who had a bad day. It was her birthday, but her father hadn’t arrived, so she was in a bad mood. She didn’t like any of her presents, and eventually she was sent to her room for being grumpy and rude.
In her room, she kicked the present from her absent father off her bed and it broke. Then she had a dream about the animals and how she spent the night dancing abnd playing with them in a forest.
The next morning, her father was home and told her that his plane had been delayed, but she was happy to see him.
The kids did a great job reading the story together and we discussed the story as a whole class. Then, they completed comprehension questions and finished off with a wordsearch that included today’s homework.
