Ocean in a Jar
For our Summer School activity, we made a beautiful ocean in a jar to keep us cool from this hot summer weather! When you shake the Jar gently to thje side, it makes a slow gentle moving wave.
First we put blue food coloring in the jar and filed it half way with water. Then we added some shells inside. The shell at the bottom of the water / ocean moves gently with the ocean!
Then we filled up the rest of the jar with oil leaving little bit of space for air. Finally we closed it tighted and taped around it just to makde sure it doesn’t leak.
The students enjoyed shaking them gently from side to side staring at the moving waves. Great summer activity to keep you feeling cool!
