After learning how the rain is created, today we learnt the importance of it. The lack of rain can cause drought and can damage our ecosystem. We need water not only to drink and shower, but also for agriculture and the animals that live in the wild.
However, as necessary as water is, too much rain can also be dangerous!
Today we made a little experiment where the kids first created a little town with paper houses and soil.
The aluminum foil in the middle acts like a river canal. First we poured some water to create the river and also drop some water over the houses to simulate the rain. Everything was okay!
But then…
As the water keep falling, a flood happened!
The house that were closer to the river sunk, while the ones that were on higher places took less damage.
Rain is important, but too much rain can be dangerous too!
