Ogikubo Summer School Day2

:Making a Clock

Students struggled a little tracing circles for the clock faces.

We treated it as a problem solving activity with each student coming up with some creative ways to get a clean circle.

The best one was the girl who used a ruler to measure the circumference and draw a circle using maths.

After this we decorated the clock faces and drew/cut out some embellishments for the clock hands.

I asked each student to come up with a theme for their clocks.

2 girls chose animals, a boy chose the olympics and the other boy chose “Japan”.

Finally we assembled these clocks using the various parts we had created, and I helped them fix the quartz controllers and set the time.

Well done, everyone!
